Not many towns on Croatian coast feel like still dreaming melancholic dream of past times like Ston. Thanks to it's special geographic position, Ston area got inhabited early in history.

AD 1333. Ston became a part of Dubrovnik Republic. It's built and fortified as protection of Salt works. Fortification walls are finished AD 1333. Ston walls are 5,5 km long, which makes them the longest in Europe, and second longest in the world, second to famous wall of China.

Ston is rich with historical monuments (St. Vlaho church, Bishop palace, 'Veliki Kastio').

Ston can attract you with it's gastronomic specialties - among others oysters and mussels. Simply - you need to visit Ston and enjoy it's magic.

Ston is situated on short land bridge connecting Peljesac peninsula with mainland. Distance from Dubrovnik to the east and Korcula to the west is 60 km. 3 km western of Ston there Prapratno bay with ferry port for Mljet island, and beautiful sandy beach in region covered with pine trees and old olives.
